Kwaisey Pee Calls for Peace as Confusion Clouds Daddy Lumba’s Funeral

Highlife artiste Kwaisey Pee has expressed his disappointment over the ongoing disagreements surrounding the funeral arrangements of legendary Ghanaian musician Daddy Lumba.

Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM, he described the situation as unfortunate, especially considering the iconic status of the late musician. According to him, the back-and-forth has created uncertainty for industry stakeholders who genuinely want to pay their respects.

“The confusion makes it hard for us in the industry to know how to support or take part in the arrangements,” he lamented. “You even become cautious about what to say or where to contribute. It’s sad that such a great man has passed, and yet we’re witnessing all this.”

Kwaisey Pee, who compared Daddy Lumba to global superstar Michael Jackson, urged all parties involved to resolve their differences and give the legend the dignified farewell he deserves.

“I used to call him our own ‘Michael Jackson’. I just wish everyone would sit down, settle the issues, and focus on giving him a proper burial. It’s really not a good look,” he emphasized.

He also expressed concern that the ongoing disputes could negatively affect how the public views Ghanaian musicians.

“This doesn’t paint a good picture of us as artistes. People might easily assume that we live disorganized lives and that even in death, things are chaotic,” he explained.

Kwaisey Pee therefore called on Daddy Lumba’s family to take charge and find a lasting solution to the disagreements.

“The family needs to step up and resolve these matters,” he urged.
