Papa Shee in Hot Trouble After Dismissing Official Funeral Date for Daddy Lumba

Evangelist Papa Shee has stirred major controversy after making bold comments about the upcoming funeral of legendary highlife musician Daddy Lumba. His statements seen as both disruptive and disrespectful have placed him at the center of a heated public debate.

Papa Shee, who is closely linked to the musician’s German-based wife Akosua Serwaa Fosuh, is already deeply involved in the tensions surrounding the musician’s final rites. In a recent viral video, he openly dismissed the officially announced funeral date of December 13, 2025, set by the newly formed funeral planning committee under the leadership of Dadiesoabahene, at the directive of the Manhyia Palace.

According to Papa Shee, there is “no way” the funeral can be held on the scheduled date. He claimed that some of Daddy Lumba’s children are in the middle of their final examinations, while others are dealing with expired passports and personal challenges. Because of these issues, he insisted that no one should attempt to hold the funeral on December 13.

In his view, the most practical timeline for the funeral would be March 2026.

However, his remarks did not sit well with the official funeral planning committee. Chairman Dadiesoabahene strongly rebuked Papa Shee’s comments, describing them as highly disrespectful and completely unauthorized. Speaking to the media, he emphasized that no individual regardless of their relationship with the family has the power to alter the funeral date without the committee’s approval.

He stated clearly that if Papa Shee believed the date needed reconsideration, the appropriate step would have been to approach the committee privately rather than spreading conflicting information to the public.

Dadiesoabahene further urged Ghanaians to ignore all rumors about a possible change, stressing that the committee remains fully committed to organizing the funeral on December 13, 2025, as originally announced.

At this point, it is unclear whether any disciplinary action will be taken against Evangelist Papa Shee for his controversial outburst but what is certain is that the controversy surrounding Daddy Lumba’s final rites continues to intensify.
